Relax,
melt around my ankles,
drip to the floor,
and relax a little more.
Liquify,
flow through the drain,
stop for a casual tea
underneath the street.
Seep into the earth,
become one with dirt.
With the rain, become mud,
sun-dried, time-petrified—
rock, erosion, sand, silt, dust—
blow into the wind,
swirl around my ankles,
stick to my feet.
Come inside with me,
fall off into my carpet,
sucked up into the vacuum,
become an organism,
a parasite, carpet mite,
out of sight.
Fly into the air,
make me sneeze,
fly across the room, and
settle—like the competition—
Relax, melt around my ankles,
drip to the floor,
and relax a little more…
